Is anyone left posting here, or did all move elsewhere to APUG and the like? EMahler |

This forum has the lowest posting I've ever seen. The only reason I've looked at it recently is because I got an email saying the server was changed. Not that it has made any difference. Ted |

Please remember: The forum is YOU As long as YOU do not post, ask questions or answer to questions, nothing will happen. This is not a movie where you can sit back and just watch Nobody will "entertain" you So if you have questions, do not be afraid! just ask! |

There haven't been enought YOUs to make it active on a daily basis. In one section of the Wet Darkroom I'm the last post and that was from November 2006. Ted |

Hi Ted, to find similar interested people, the wet darkromm is for sure more difficult than digital darkroom nowadays. But the procedure of a forum is still always the same. The more will be asked, the more will be answered. I mean, what is the alternative? To post every 6 months that nobody wants to post anything and asking the real questions somewhere else? I think the right approach is to ask and answer first here and motivate with this others to get out of their sleep I can not guarantee that someone in this forum will have always an answere to every question you might have. But with currently 1356 members, the likelyhood is not that small, that some of them have a solution to one of your problems. If noone asks, we have to push more for it. But if everybody is waiting always for "someone else", nothing will change. This "someone else" is you and me and all the others of this 1356 group here ; P.S.: By the way, I will leave in a few hours on vacation and will be back end of next week. No internet access during this time... |

Please see my questions at the wet darkroom forum area. Perhaps some interest will begin. Elliot |

Dirk >> the wet darkroom is for shure more difficult than digital darkroom nowadays << I am working in a wet darkroom as well as I use the digital darkroom . But it is just not true , that the wet darkroom process is more difficult . The learning curve for both can be rather hard , but you just can't compare , although having experience on one of the 2 rooms might help you work in the other . But still the workflow is different . An other aspect , often overlooked is , that images from digital are much more expensive . Look at the wonderful , but very expensive papers from Hahnemühle , just as an example , and then look at the prices for the K3 inks for the EPSON printers . An advantage in digital of course is , that you can interupt your work at any time and you can also create your images in "any size" with the same quality . Thats what I like . I feel unable to decide if a baryt print or an EPSON print is better or not , but they are different . You can find this out , just looking at your images with a good light , like in an exhibition room . I do hope , my short posting will initiate a discussion . Regards Jürgen |

Hi Jürgen I did not mean with my posting above, that the one process is easier than the other (maybe more convenient). I meant that it will be tougher and tougher to find people with knowledge about the "wet darkroom" on the net. |
